Stacey & Josh - August 30, 2008

Stacey and Josh's wedding was held at Deer Run Golf Course, and it was absolutely beautiful! I was in awe at how perfectly everything fell together. All the right moments played out wonderfully, and there were no mishaps or disasters to fix! Everything ran smoothly and perfectly all day.

The ceremony was beautiful, heartfelt, and the adoration pouring from the bride and groom for each other was refreshing to see. The photo sesion was fun and efficient, and we had a great time creating some group shots by a great covered bridge on the golf course property.

It is always a hit or miss when you have children in your wedding. Stacey and Josh had four! Three flower girls and one ring bearer. They were all extremely cooperative and ADORABLE! They had a lot of fun and did a phenomenal job. I was very impressed with how sweet and well behaved they were, especially for the photos.

Thank you Stacey and Josh, for allowing me to capture your day. It was an honour to witness and experience your wedding with you and I truly wish you all the happiness in the world!!!

Milo & Caleb - August 23, 2008

Monday, August 25, 2008

Milo and Caleb's wedding was beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony, which was held at Victoria Ave United Church in Chatham. The vows were beautiful, and Jill Wilson sang a hauntingly romantic song during the signing of the register. It was the most beautiful performance I have ever heard live.

Photos were taken at the Legion park in Chatham, and the reception concluded at the Merlin Community Hall in Merlin. The hall was decorated beautifully and the tables were large and extremely comfortable. The centerpieces of candle pillars and gerbera daisies set a romantic ambiance.

The speeches were heartfelt and emotional, and had both me and my assistant in tears through most of them! Love truly filled the entire reception and everyone attending.

Thank you Milo and Caleb for the honour of shooting your wedding day!

Lori & Dan - August 9, 2008

Sunday, August 10, 2008

Lori & Dan's wedding was absolutely amazing. As Tara (my assistant) and I were driving to Bayfield, Ontario, the weather reports were predicting an 80% chance of thunder storms - and the wedding was outdoors! We were worried to say the least.

When Lori arrived at our meeting place, I was pleasantly surprised to find her cool and collected, even with the impending rain clouds overhead and her ceremony only an hour and a half away - with spitting rain threatening to spill into a downpour.

We managed to find a beautiful park location for some shots of her, her daughter, and her sister before the wedding started, and the rain stayed away. As we got into our cars to go to the ceremony though, it finally started to really rain. Where would we have the ceremony? Tara and I were nervous, but not nearly as nervous as I'm sure Lori and Dan were!

Just as the ceremony was about to begin, and everyone was still taking cover in their cars - the rain stopped. The clouds didn't go away, but we figured we'd go for it - and proceded with the ceremony. The guests left their cars and hurried down to the beautiful beach location they had set up, and Dan and his son headed down there to wait for Lori.

Lori had come up with a very clever and sentimental surprise for Dan, and it played out perfectly. Dan plays the bagpipes, and Lori secretly invited his long-time mentor piper, and his friend, to come and play as she walked down the aisle. I'll never forget the look on Dan's face when he heard the bagpipes start up, and saw his bride walking towards him, arm-in-arm with her father, followed by a piper and a drummer in their traditional plaid kilts. It was beautiful.
Just as Lori and Dan were beginning their vows, the clouds parted, and a beautiful ray of light came down on them and their guests - it was a heavenly, romantic moment I will never forget.

We breezed through pictures and had a wonderful time, at some scenic and romantic locations, and just after entering the reception hall, heaven let loose and down came the rains! What a perfect story for them to always remember - the 80% chance of thunderstorms was no match for their wedding vows!!!

Thank you Lori and Dan for allowing me to capture your wonderful day, and it was truly an honour!!

These are some shots from a photo shoot I did this weekend with a personal trainer/body builder/MMA fighter named Melissa. We had a lot of fun and she pulled off some amazing shots.

Second shooter!

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

I have recently hired my close friend Tara Melville as an assistant. She has beefed up her photography skills and is now available as a second shooter for weddings. We're both very excited and Tara is snapping like crazy and getting used to her new gear! Woohoo! I'm pretty excited to be able to offer two photographers now!! Love you Tara!

Kennedy Family - July 21, 2008

The Kennedy family hired me to take their family portraits. Rather than do them in my studio on a backdrop, they opted to shoot on the beach in beautiful Canatara Park in Sarnia. They all wore jeans and white shirts - and the photos turned out great!!

Thanks to the Kennedy's and Melville's!

Kathryn & Tim - July 3, 2008

Kathryn was one of my first roommates - we lived together with our friend Sarah in 2003. She and her long-time boyfriend Tim tied the knot in Cuba on July 3rd. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend the wedding, but they held a reception at the Retro Suites in Chatham upon their return. I photographed the event for her and here are some of her photos...

Kath & Tim - I love you guys!!!!

Morgan & Jonny - July 26, 2008

Congratulations to Morgan & Jonathan - my first "Real" wedding!

The ceremony was beautiful - set outside at the Fanshawe Pioneer Village in London, Ontario.

The couple performed a special "hand knot" ceremony where their best man and maid of honour, as well as the officiant, tied their hands together in love. It was beautiful!

Morgan was radiant. I have never seen a bride look at a groom the way she looked at him! And to my surprise, he looked back at her the same way! It was stunning to see two people so fabulously in love with each other! It shone through in their photos.

Morgan and Jonny - I will have a very hard time finding another couple so wonderful to work for, so radiant and romantic, and so photogenic! You really made my job easy!!
